Chigee AIO-5 vs AIO-6: Which One Should I Choose?

Over the past year, Chigee has carved out a name for itself in the motorcycle dashcam space, even creating a whole new category of smart systems for motorcycles. Recently, we introduced the latest addition to their all-in-one lineup: the AIO-6.

Now, if you’re completely new to these devices or currently using the AIO-5 and wondering if it's worth upgrading to the AIO-6, this article is for you.

We break down all the ways the AIO-6 has improved over the AIO-5 in a side-by-side comparison, so you can decide which one is the right fit for you.

Overview of AIO-5 Series

Chigee launched the AIO-5 Series in 2024 with multiple variants: the AIO-5 Play – a 5” smart riding display; the AIO-5 Play BMW – a dedicated plug-and-play setup for BMW bikes; and the AIO-5 Lite – a full-fledged riding system featuring front and rear cameras, external GPS, and several handy add-ons that powered the setup. It has been a great success, with adventure riders around the world relying on it for their journeys.

Overview of AIO-6 Series

In April 2025, Chigee introduced a bigger, smarter, and safer upgrade to its lineup: the AIO-6 Series, which includes the AIO-6 Max and AIO-6 LTE. The standout feature is the larger 6” display, but that’s just the beginning. It’s now modular with more add-ons, upgraded cameras, and a significantly enhanced safety system.

Display Size

As the name suggests, the AIO-6 series features a larger 6-inch LCD screen, designed for better visibility compared to the 5-inch display in the AIO-5 series.

The screen isn’t just bigger. It’s also better. The peak brightness has jumped from 1200 nits in the AIO-5 to 2300 nits in the AIO-6, making it almost twice as bright. The user interface has also been refined to better suit the larger display.

Installation/Mounting Options

The AIO-5 series was mostly fixed to the motorcycle, it's not easy to remove once installed. The only exception was the BMW version, which worked with a quick-release clamp for easier removal after rides.

This fixed setup wasn’t ideal for riders with multiple bikes, and it came with some safety concerns.

We addressed this in the AIO-6 series. A new Quick Release Kit allows the base to be mounted on one or more bikes, while the display can be easily swapped between them.

Additionally, the AIO-6 is no longer limited to motorcycles. A suction cup quick-release kit has also been introduced for cars. It can be mounted to the car’s windshield and powered via USB-C.

Cameras

In the AIO-5 Series, particularly, the Lite version included two cameras as part of the package. These cameras can record at 1920 x 1080 resolution with a frame rate of 30 fps.

In the AIO-6 Series, the cameras still offer the same resolution but now record at a smoother 60 fps, and are upgraded with a metal housing for better durability. They are not included by default in any variant and are available only as optional add-ons.

It’s also worth noting that the older AIO-5 camera setup is not compatible with the AIO-6 device. So, if you’re planning to upgrade, you’ll need to purchase new cameras.

GPS and Safety Features

The AIO-5 Series came with an external GPS device that provided basic speed tracking and compass direction. But most of the system’s features still relied heavily on your smartphone.

With the AIO-6 Series, especially the LTE version, we have taken a big leap forward. It now includes a built-in SIM card that enables 24/7 bike tracking. When the bike is parked and any movement is detected, a video notification is sent in real time to the CHIGEE GO app.

It also supports geo-fencing. If your bike crosses a predefined boundary, you’ll receive an instant alert. All in all, it’s a much more complete and intelligent security package.

Cross-App Compatibility

The AIO-5 screen mainly mirrors your smartphone and limited view of Android apps. With the AIO-6 Series, software upgrades have unlocked more powerful features. Chigee has partnered with Insta360 to bring real-time camera control directly to the AIO-6 display.

You can preview your shots, start recording, pause, or take photos, all from the display — no need to touch the camera.

It currently supports Insta360 models (X4, ACE, ACE PRO2) and GoPro models (GoPro 11 and above).

Add-Ons

It’s not that Chigee hasn’t been offering add-ons in the AIO-5 Series; there were multiple in the form of mounts, an external TPMS system, and a wireless remote controller.

But in the case of AIO-Series, due to its versatility, the add-ons have multiplied, including multiple quick-release kits and controls. Cameras also come as add-ons, making it more of a modular setup, which could be expanded over time to enhance functionality.

Which One Should You Buy?

Now, it all comes down to which one you should buy? Well, that’s a personal choice and may vary based on your use case. But we can suggest which audience may like which option.

Go for AIO-5 if you:

  • Ride a single motorcycle and want a cost-effective all-in-one system.
  • Mainly need navigation, basic dashcam recording, and a clean, fixed install

Go for AIO-6 if you:

  • Own multiple bikes and want to swap the device between them.
  • Prefer a larger, brighter 6-inch display with a smoother user interface.
  • Want upgraded cameras (60 fps) and the flexibility to choose them as add-ons.
  • Are serious about bike security with 24/7 GPS tracking, real-time alerts, and geo-fencing.
  • Want better cross-app control, including Insta360 and GoPro integration.
