After months of delay, I finally received my device with the quick release system.
It was a nightmare to make it work. Finally the problem was a defective quick release electrical connection, and I was given a second one that works.
Until I found out, I lost several days troubleshooting and exchanging mails with customer support, who are not very knowledgeable. The root cause was difficult to spot. I didn't know why the device turned on when powered via the side usb, but not the rear one. I tested the cables, the quick release, the unit, with confusing results, powered by the motorcycle, by a charger, with or without the quick release, etc. It happens that the rear type-c usb is NOT SIMMETRICAL (incredibly stupid design) so if you power it with the normal cables (not quick release) it may work or not depending on the orientation. But there's no warning about it anywhere. It took me days to find out and for Chigee to recognize it.
Besides, if I ride over 120km/h onroad, or if I ride over any bumps offroad, the device vibrates and I fear that the connecting arm may end up breaking. It should be anchored at two points to the handlebar and have a stronger arm. It didn't happen with my smartphone, which had a better mounting cradle on the same handlebar and motorcycle.
Overall a bit disappointed, given the price and the waiting time.
