Why doesn’t DJI support live preview (MegaView) on CHIGEE Display?
DJI currently does not provide an open/live-preview protocol that third-party displays like CHIGEE can use for real-time video streaming. As a result, CHIGEE can only offer camera control functions for supported DJI models, but cannot enable live preview at this time.
If DJI opens the required interface in the future, we will evaluate adding MegaView support accordingly.
What can I control from the CHIGEE Display?
Core actions typically include record start/stop, photo capture, and wake/sleep. The display also provides status prompts to confirm connection and actions.
Can I connect two cameras at the same time?
No. CHIGEE Display supports one paired action camera at a time. Dual-camera connections and instant switching are not supported.
Why does the camera disconnect when I leave the camera control screen?
The camera connection is designed around the Action Cam Control interface. Depending on model/firmware behavior, leaving that screen (Home, CarPlay, playback, etc.) may end the control session.
My camera won’t pair. What should I try first?
Try these steps in order:
- Update CHIGEE Display firmware (beta if required)
- Update the action camera firmware to the latest official version
- Restart both devices
- On the camera, use Reset Network/Connections (clears saved wireless pairing)
- Retry pairing with the camera close to the display
Does this replace the camera’s app or advanced settings?
No. CHIGEE focuses on ride-essential actions (preview where supported + key capture controls). Advanced settings may still need to be adjusted on the camera or in the camera’s app.
Is it safe to operate the camera while riding?
We recommend setting up pairing and adjusting settings while stopped. Use quick capture controls only when it’s safe and legal to do so.
Firmware Requirements
Action camera control requires beta firmware versions listed in CHIGEE’s support article (check the article for the latest updates):
- AIO-6: Beta 1.6.2
- AIO-5 Play: Beta 1.7.1
- AIO-5 Lite: Beta 3.4.7
How to enable beta firmware: Settings → System Update → enable “Check for beta firmware” → Check update → install → reboot.
