Chigee G3 Tire Pressure Monitoring System Review
Let's get back to independent TPMS systems, not tied to Carplay. Chigee's proposal promises to be premium in construction quality and reliable in software quality.
I currently own three motorcycles and I mount a different TPMS system on each model . I should point out that after about two years of using the system based on Bluetooth/smartphone app , I found this type of device so convenient that I decided to equip each of my vehicles with something that detects tire pressure . Too often, in the past, I neglected the various checks, pressure gauge in hand, out of laziness or forgetfulness. Today, however, I am always able to keep an eye on this important data, especially for motorcyclists, and intervene with the compressor when really necessary.
On the Duke 790 I mounted the aforementioned Bluetooth sensors , which synchronize via app on the smartphone. Solution that works well, but sometimes it happens that the synchronization is not so fast and must be forced by closing and reopening the app for example. On the SMT 890 instead I preferred to mount the internal sensors of the company, which are therefore integrated into the TFT and which return the values after traveling a few meters. The Honda CRF300L did not have TPMS , so I asked Chigee to test their G3 , which has always intrigued me looking at the technical sheet on the official website. Sensors equipped with a display, as we see so many (cheap) on Amazon Italy or in oriental stores, but in this case I was certain of the construction quality of this brand. And I was not disappointed.
Unboxing and technical features
In a box that is as always very well-finished , both from a graphic point of view and from that of the internal and external materials, we immediately find the small display and the two external sensors in the foreground . It is possible, when ordering, to also opt for the internal ones . For versatility and for compatibility with my Honda , equipped with inner tubes, I chose the external solution.
In the package , we find:
- Chigee G3 device
- 2 external sensors
- 2 anti-theft bolts
- 1 x Magnetic Charging Cable
- 1 metal cable tie and its plastic clips
- 2 GoPro style mounts and related 3M stickers
- 1 soft plastic strip to protect the handlebar
- the installation tools

Moving on to the technical features , here is the G3 data sheet
- 5 colors available, black, red, gray, gold and green
- CNC metal body
- IP67 waterproof certification
- magnetic charging
- weight of 30 grams
- Up to 600 days standby time, 600 mAh battery
- Measurement accuracy 0.01 Bar
- Measuring range 0-5 Bar
Installation and first configuration
As already mentioned, in the package we find different types of attachments. Given that they all have a quick release, which allows us to take the device away or recharge it at home when it is flat, I opted for the one on the handlebar with a strap. Now, let's get the only real negative aspect of this product out of the way right away. Dear Chigee , you take great care of your products, but this metal strap is a small lapse in style. Nothing irreparable, on the CRF it can even be there, but on some bikes it would really be a discordant note. It must be said that, once installed with the clip and the display, it remains fortunately hidden.
After the simple “physical” installation, I moved on to the first configuration, which allows you to associate the two sensors to the display. There are three physical buttons: “+ and -” on the left side, “set” button on the right.
Other screens with technical specifications.
Pressing + and – at the same time for 5 seconds will enter the pairing mode . First, screw on the external sensor on the front wheel, and after it is recognized with a beep , move on to the rear one. In addition to pairing, you need to set the minimum and maximum pressure and temperature values to activate the alerts . In this case, you enter the configuration mode by holding down the set button for two seconds . With quick presses of the same, you will then move on to all the configurable values. You exit the configuration mode by holding down the button for two seconds or by not doing any operation for 60 seconds.
At the end we will have set minimum and maximum pressure values, ditto for what concerns the temperature. When the sensors detect an exit from this range , the G3 will warn us with the relative lights and with the flashing of the numerical value.
How they go on the road
Once the setup phase is over , which is harder said than done, let's talk about the user experience . The display has three brightness levels , which make it always clearly visible in person if used at least in the intermediate one (the low one is only good in the evening). It wakes up from standby as soon as it registers a small movement. The data is accurate, no signs of uncertainty or bugs. Everything works well. In these weeks of use, the battery continues to give me the two bars out of three that it had since day one, so I believe that the declared data are true and in any case it is not an energy-hungry device.

Aesthetically I like it a lot and so did my friends who admired it on the CRF handlebars . Of all the types of TPMS I use, in terms of quality and versatility it is perhaps one of the best, because as a good after market solution it also allows a bike change, something denied to us by all the integrated solutions. The possibility of also matching the color of your vehicle is an aesthetic whim in line with the quality of the Chigee range . The only shame is that clamp.
Display with excellent visibility, even at night.
Price and final considerations
We know that there are various types of TPMS at really low prices , but if we want quality , we have to budget for a higher expense. Whether it's the Bluetooth ones , or these and even more so the official ones from various manufacturers. After market solutions , however, allow us to keep them even if we sell and change motorcycles, or if we want to exchange them between a couple of our vehicles. Longevity and versatility unknown to the integrated ones, even for the simple battery change (BR1225 for external sensors, one year of duration).
With an expense of approximately 143 euros we purchase a quality component, with a price that is not so high if compared to the Bluetooth ones (in which there is no display unit) and the official ones from the manufacturers, which usually exceed 200 euros.
