Developed on Real Roads, Not Just in the Lab
The SR-1 Millimeter-wave Radar System started as a CHIGEE project in 2025 with a simple idea: build a radar system that actually feels right on a motorcycle.
For us, it was never just about detection. What mattered more was how the system behaved in real riding — whether the alert came at the right moment, whether it felt clear without being distracting, and whether riders could keep trusting it mile after mile.
That’s why, from 2025 to April 2026, the CHIGEE R&D and testing team kept taking SR-1 onto real roads, including motorcycle trips in different parts of the world. Those rides helped us continuously refine the warning trigger logic, making alerts feel more natural, more balanced, and better suited to real traffic situations. And with OTA update support, SR-1 is built to keep improving over time.
At the same time, both the light bar and the radar module went through multiple design revisions to become smaller, cleaner, and more refined on the bike.
SR-1 is the result of that process — shaped by real riding, refined through repeated testing, and designed to deliver radar awareness in a form that feels more natural for riders.
The SR-1 Millimeter-wave Radar System helps riders improve rear awareness by detecting approaching vehicles from behind and providing clear visual warning alerts.
This guide explains how SR-1 works, what motorcycles it fits, what’s included in the standard kit, which CHIGEE displays are compatible, and what to know before installation.
Before You Buy
SR-1 can be used in two ways:
Standalone Mode: Use SR-1 with the included external indicator lights. No CHIGEE Display is required.
Display Integration Mode: Pair SR-1 with a compatible CHIGEE Display for on-screen radar graphics, sound alerts, and radar settings.
Motorcycle Compatibility
SR-1 is designed to work with most motorcycles that use a standard 12V electrical system.
It can be installed on a wide range of motorcycle types, including:
Adventure bikes
Sport bikes
Cruisers
Touring motorcycles
Naked bikes
Commuter motorcycles
SR-1 does not require proprietary motorcycle connectors, a model-specific harness, or permanent modification to your bike. In most cases, installation only requires mounting the radar module at the rear of the motorcycle, installing the warning lights, and connecting the wiring harness to the motorcycle’s power system.
What’s Included in the Standard SR-1 Kit?
The standard SR-1 kit includes the main components needed for standalone radar warning operation:
SR-1 radar module
Two standalone indicator lights
Required wiring and mounting accessories
The included indicator lights provide the core visual warning function. They are designed to be installed without replacing your existing motorcycle mirrors or display system.
Can SR-1 Work Without a CHIGEE Display?
Yes. SR-1 can be used independently without a CHIGEE Display.
In standalone mode, the radar module detects approaching vehicles from behind and sends alerts through the included flashing indicator lights. This provides the basic SR-1 warning function without requiring screen integration.
Standalone mode is suitable for riders who want radar-based visual alerts but do not use a CHIGEE display.
Using SR-1 with a CHIGEE Display
SR-1 can be paired with compatible CHIGEE Displays to show radar alerts directly on the screen. You can also access radar settings from the display menu and enable audible alerts through the display speaker.
When SR-1 is connected to a compatible CHIGEE Display, installing the included amber light strips is optional. The radar can work normally with the display alone, and alerts will appear on the screen.
The amber light strips are mainly for standalone use without a CHIGEE Display, or for riders who want an additional visual alert.
Visual Alerts and Sound Alerts
The SR-1 radar module and indicator lights provide visual warnings only. They do not produce sound alerts on their own.
To receive audible radar alerts, you must pair SR-1 with a compatible CHIGEE Display and enable Sound Alerts in the display settings.
Bluetooth Headset Limitation Radar alert sounds cannot be transmitted to a Bluetooth headset. Even if your phone or CHIGEE display is connected to a Bluetooth headset, SR-1 radar alert sounds will only play through the CHIGEE display’s built-in speaker.
Optional Upgrade: CG Radar Rearview Mirrors
The CG Radar Rearview Mirrors are optional upgrades for SR-1.
They combine the rearview mirror and radar warning indicator into one integrated setup, helping keep the cockpit cleaner while still providing visual radar alerts.
These mirrors are not included in the standard SR-1 package unless specifically selected at purchase.
Basic Installation Guide
SR-1 installation includes three main steps:
1. Radar Module Installation Mount the radar module at the rear of the motorcycle. Make sure it is securely fixed, facing backward, and not blocked by luggage, body panels, license plate holders, or other accessories.
2. Warning Light Installation Install the two warning lights where they are clearly visible to the rider. They can be attached to the original rearview mirrors or installed with the optional M10 warning light brackets.
Note: If you use SR-1 with a compatible CHIGEE Display, you can choose to use the radar module with the display only, without installing the external warning lights. The system will still provide radar alerts through the display.
3. Product Wiring Connect the SR-1 wiring harness according to the wiring diagram in the user manual. After wiring is complete, power on the system and check that the warning lights work normally.

Unlike conventional radar systems adapted from automotive use, SR-1 is built specifically for motorcycles and the way riders actually move through traffic. It does more than detect what is behind you — it delivers earlier, more relevant warnings for blind-spot traffic, lane changes, overtakes, and fast-closing vehicles from the rear.
And unlike systems that only alert the rider, SR-1 can also trigger an active rear warning light to help make approaching drivers aware of your presence sooner. The result is a radar system designed not just to detect traffic, but to work more naturally in real riding conditions.
Up to 70 m detection for wider rear coverage
SR-1 extends rear awareness beyond the immediate blind zone, helping riders detect vehicles earlier across a broader rear and rear-side area.

Four active warning modes
The SR-1 runs four independent warning algorithms simultaneously, each tuned to a specific riding scenario.
Note: The radar module and indicator light provide visual warnings only and do not produce sound alerts. To receive audible warnings, you need to pair the radar module with a CHIGEE Display and enable the sound alert option in the settings.
Blind Spot Detection (BSD)
Detect vehicles in your blind spot before you change lanes.
Once your speed exceeds 10 km/h, SR-1 automatically monitors the blind spot area beside and behind your motorcycle. If a vehicle enters that zone, the system sends a visual and audible warning to help you notice nearby traffic earlier when changing lanes or riding in dense traffic.
Active Overtake Alert (AOA)
Know if another vehicle is approaching from behind before you move back into the lane after overtaking.
After you overtake another vehicle, SR-1 checks the lane again before you move back in. If another vehicle is approaching from behind or remains in the blind spot, the system warns you in time so you can merge back more safely.
Lane Change Assist (LCA)
Get lane change warnings that adjust to your riding speed and surrounding traffic.
SR-1 adjusts warning timing based on your speed and the relative speed of surrounding vehicles. At higher speeds, alerts come earlier to give you more time to react. In slower traffic, unnecessary warnings are reduced so the system stays helpful without becoming distracting.
Rear Collision Warning (RCW)
Know sooner when a vehicle is approaching quickly from behind.
If SR-1 detects a possible rear collision risk, it sends a warning immediately. This gives you more time to stay aware, keep your motorcycle stable, and react to a fast-approaching vehicle behind you. Warning sensitivity can also be adjusted to better match different traffic conditions and rider preferences.

Warn Yourself — And Warn the Vehicle Behind You
Most blind-spot systems alert only the rider. The SR-1 takes it a step further. An integrated high-brightness strobe light is built directly into the radar module. When a vehicle is detected closing dangerously fast from behind, the light flashes automatically — alerting the approaching driver to back off before a collision becomes likely. Particularly effective at night or in low-visibility conditions, this turns the SR-1 from a passive sensor into an active road-safety device.
Auto-dimming indicator lights
An onboard ambient light sensor continuously adjusts indicator brightness. In direct sunlight the lights punch through the glare; at night they dim to avoid dazzling you or traffic behind. No manual adjustment needed.
Flexible mounting, easier fitment
The bracket can be mounted in either orientation, allowing upright or inverted installation to suit a wide range of motorcycles.
Pairs with Compatible CHIGEE Displays
When paired with a CHIGEE display, SR-1 can bring radar information onto the screen in real time, giving you another layer of situational awareness beyond the warning lights alone.
You can also adjust selected warning parameters to better suit your riding style and environment, making the system feel more personal and more relevant to the way you ride.
Tune warnings to match your ride
SR-1 lets you adjust how the system warns you, with control over sensitivity, activation speed, and alert intensity. Through the CHIGEE display or mobile app, you can tailor alert behavior to suit different roads, traffic conditions, and riding preferences.
The result is a warning setup that feels more relevant, less distracting, and better suited to the way you actually ride.
Note: This feature is expected to launch in late June. Please stay tuned for the official release notice.
Built to improve over time
SR-1 supports Bluetooth OTA updates, allowing the warning system to keep evolving through future refinements. As more riding data and real-world scenarios are incorporated, alert logic and detection performance can continue to improve over time.
Built for long miles and bad weather
The SR-1 radar module is built to handle tough riding conditions, with IP68 / IP69-rated protection against rain, dust, and prolonged outdoor exposure. Sealed for long-term reliability, it is made to keep performing through changing weather, dirty roads, and everyday use.

Safety Statement
SR-1 is a motorcycle rider assistance product designed to support rear awareness. It cannot detect every traffic situation or eliminate all risks. Warning performance may be affected by the environment, installation conditions, and surrounding traffic.
Riders should always check mirrors, remain aware of road conditions, and continue to make riding decisions based on their own observation and judgment.
Can I use SR-1 without a CHIGEE display?
Yes. SR-1 can be used without a CHIGEE display. The included standalone indicator lights provide the core warning function on their own.
A compatible CHIGEE display can provide additional on-screen integration and settings access, but it is not required for basic radar warning operation.
Is the SR-1 Radar compatible with all CHIGEE Displays?
No. The SR-1 Radar is currently compatible with AIO-5 and AIO-6 series displays only.
It cannot pair or connect with the XR-2 Display. When used with XR-2, radar alerts will only be shown through the flashing indicator light, not on the XR-2 screen.
Do I need to install the SR-1 warning lights if I use it with Chigee Display?
No. The SR-1 can work normally without the warning lights when connected to a compatible CHIGEE display, such as the AIO-6.
If you only install the radar module and connect it to your AIO-6, the radar detection function will still work, and alerts can be shown directly on the AIO-6 screen.
The included amber warning lights are mainly for riders who want an additional visual alert, or for standalone use without a CHIGEE display. They are not required for basic radar operation when the SR-1 is paired with an AIO-6.
Can Chigee Display pair with two SR-1 Radars?
No. The Chigee Display can only pair with one SR-1 Radar at a time.
If you switch to a second motorcycle with another SR-1 Radar, the Chigee Display will not automatically connect to the second radar. You will need to delete the first radar from the Chigee Display settings, then pair the second radar again.
How do radar sound alerts work?
The SR-1 radar module and indicator light provide visual warnings only and do not produce sound on their own.
To receive audible radar alerts, you must pair the SR-1 with a CHIGEE Display and enable sound alerts in the display settings. This means a CHIGEE Display is required if you want radar warning sounds.
Please also note that radar alert sounds cannot be transmitted to your Bluetooth headset. The sound is played only through the CHIGEE Display, so your headset will not receive these warning alerts.
Does SR-1 replace mirror checks or shoulder checks?
SR-1 is a rider assistance system designed to improve rear awareness, not replace safe riding habits. Riders should always check mirrors, stay aware of surrounding traffic, and use their own judgment at all times.
Which setup is included, and which one is optional?
Each SR-1 package includes the core radar module and two standalone indicator lights as standard. These indicator lights are the default warning-light setup and can be installed without replacing existing bike components.
Please note that the CG Radar Mirror is an optional upgrade and is not included in the standard package unless selected separately.
Can the radar unit be mounted upright or upside down?
Yes.
The radar unit supports both upright and inverted installation. However, the radar module itself must remain in the correct orientation during installation.
Do not rotate the radar body itself or install it upside down with the logo reversed. Instead, change the bracket orientation to achieve either upright or inverted mounting.
My warning light is working in the wrong direction. What should I do?
If the indicator light is installed the wrong way around and no display is connected, you can swap the Left and Right ports on the indicator light connector. This will correct the warning direction.
If the radar detects up to 70 m, why does the warning distance seem different in real use?
The SR-1 radar has a maximum detectionrange of 70 meters, but warning timing is not based on distance alone.
CHIGEE’s alert logic takes into account the relative speed between your motorcycle and the vehicle behind you. If a vehicle is approaching quickly, the system may warn earlier. If it is approaching slowly, the alert may come later. This is designed to improve safety while reducing unnecessary warnings outside the actual risk zone.
Does the indicator light adjust brightness automatically?
Yes.
The radar unit includes an ambient light sensor near the indicator light area. When riding into darker conditions, such as tunnels or nighttime environments, the indicator light will automatically dim to reduce glare and improve comfort.
Can I adjust the speed at which the system becomes active?
Yes. You can set the speed threshold for radar alert activation based on your riding environment and preference. The available options are:
0 km/h
10 km/h
30 km/h
50 km/h
Once the selected speed is reached, SR-1 radar alerts will become active. This helps reduce unnecessary alerts in low-speed situations, such as city riding, while keeping warnings active during faster rides.

I got the SR-1 as an addition to my AIO-6 and cameras. The install was a little tricky, mostly due to how I had to run the wires. Connected everything up and turned it on. It connected to the AIO-6 without any issues at all. I configured it and then went for a test ride. I am very impressed at its detection ability. It gives me more confidence in knowing what is around me. It doesn't replace checking mirrors and a shoulder check, but it does give me extra comfort. Well worth the cost.
