Yes, this is correct. As stated on the product page, the Calimoto activation code is only valid for new users.

If you have previously used a free trial or already redeemed another promotional/discount code with the account, the Premium activation code will not work.

In this case, we recommend either:

Registering a new Calimoto account with a different email address, or
Giving the activation code to a friend who has never used Calimoto before.
